About This Video

In this video I’m sharing what I’m calling “sewing with intention” for fall—nothing fancy, just two simple rules I’m trying to stick to: use better-quality fabric, and actually use the sewing resources I already own so I can keep improving my skills. I give a quick life update, then walk through my fall sewing goals and how I’m making decisions a little more thoughtfully (especially as I’m sewing over 50 and I care a lot more about comfort, fit, and whether something will really earn its place in my closet). I also show you the first project I made under these new rules, plus two garments I sewed for our Hawaii cruise. Along the way I talk about knit sewing details—like using stay tape properly—because that’s one of those small technique upgrades that makes a big difference in how a garment wears over time. I wrap up with some cruise updates, a Calgary Frocktails recap (it went really well this year), and I leave you with a question: are you actually using the books and magazines in your resource library, or are they just sitting there? I’m trying to make mine work for me.
