In this video I’m talking about life and sewing goals for 2026—without turning it into a pressure cooker. As a retiree, I’m in a different season than I was when work schedules ran everything, so I share how I’m thinking about goals in a way that feels realistic and kind. I walk through two personal goals first, because for me the sewing always goes better when my life is feeling steady and supported. Then I get into my sewing goals for the year: what I want to make, how I want to make it, and the kind of sewing room rhythm I’m aiming for. I also chat a bit about what’s working for me in the sewing room right now—tools that help, and the practical side of staying comfortable and consistent at the machine. And yes, I mention the bathing suit I made using Butterick 5795, because it’s a good example of how I’m trying to sew smarter: choosing patterns intentionally, adjusting when needed, and keeping the whole thing enjoyable instead of stressful.
