This week’s Friday Sews is a bit of a journey, because I didn’t start with a big burst of motivation—I started with a missing sewjo. I talk through what it felt like to be procrastinating and why the sewing only happened once I actually sat with what was going on. After that, I share what I did manage to sew: a simple t-shirt (sometimes that’s exactly what you need), a skill-building tote bag, and one almost-finished project where I genuinely need your input—because I’m stuck on whether it’s reading as “shorts,” an overskirt idea, or something else entirely. I also show what’s on my cutting table next, plus a little fabric order (including that gorgeous Breton stripe from Core Fabrics). And then we get into the real heart of the video: the psychological breakthrough that helped me get unstuck. It turns out there was a real reason I’d been avoiding the sewing room, and naming it made it easier to move forward.
