In this video I’m sharing what I’m wearing to Calgary Frocktails—and yes, I finally made the “wear it again” decision instead of sewing something that’s a one-night-only moment. I take you through a little bit of my Frocktails past, what I actually sewed this time (separates!), and why I’m really happy with the direction I went. Over 50, I’m all about outfits that feel fun and special, but still make sense in my real wardrobe. I break down my two-piece outfit: the peplum top (New Look 6673—still shocked it’s out of print because it’s such a good one) and the skirt (New Look 6668). I also chat fabric choices from Marshall Fabrics here in Calgary—both have a bit of stretch, which matters to me for comfort and fit. Then we get into the shoe search (because that’s always the tricky part), including the two gifted pairs from Cosy Island. I share my honest thoughts on what makes a heel feel wearable, what helps me feel pulled together, and why the silver pair ended up being the perfect match for this Frocktails ensemble.
