If you just picked up a Ford Ranger Raptor (or you’re about to), the biggest question I always get is: what mods do you do first? In this video I break down the three practical mods you need right off the rip to get this truck set up like it’s ready for Baja—without ruining the beautiful engineering Ford Performance already put into it. I’m not here to tell you to buy 10 things. I’m telling you to buy three: tires, wheels, and a strut spacer lift. First, I go straight to 35s because Ford honestly should’ve done it from the factory. I’m running 35x12.50R17 Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires because they sit in that perfect sweet spot—more aggressive than an all-terrain, not as loud or extreme as a mud terrain, and they’re still quiet and solid on the highway. Then we talk wheels, because you can’t just slap 35s on the stock +55mm wheels and expect it to fit right. I went with Bronco Sasquatch wheels to push the stance out, clear the suspension, and avoid wheel spacers. Finally, I explain why I chose a top-hat strut spacer (2/1) instead of messing with springs or geometry. It keeps the factory suspension geometry intact, protects the Fox Live Valve system, and once you do a ride height calibration, everything works together like stock—just refined.
