In this video I took my 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor out to Corolla Beach in the Outer Banks (OBX) with my wife to do a real-world soft sand test in Baja Mode. This isn’t pavement driving — it’s deep sand where airing down, throttle response, and suspension actually matter. It was also my first time bringing the truck on the beach with my current setup, and we had our buddy Kevin out there too with his new Jeep Rubicon. I’ll just say it straight: the performance in the soft sand was absolutely incredible. The suspension is unreal, the power is out of this world, and it handled the whoops, divots, and nasty churned-up spots from people doing donuts like it was built for it — because it is. It’s my daily driver, and after dealing with transmission failures on my Chevy, I’m fully in that “buy once, cry once” mindset now. My take? Bar none, this is the best midsize truck on the market and you can’t change my mind. It outperforms the ZR2, the Tacoma, and the Tacoma TRD Pro without the price tag — and this one isn’t even tuned yet. We made it home with nothing but good vibes, and now I’m already planning Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan in July.
