Here's the highly requested updated 2026 undervolt guide for Ryzen 7 5800X, but the exact same method works on almost every AM4 CPU (5600X, 5700X, 5800X3D, 5900X, etc.). Two profiles inside: static undervolt (best temps) + PBO Curve Optimizer (best performance) + a quick FCLK/UCLK sync tip for smoother FPS. About This Video

If you want to undervolt your Ryzen 7 5800X and get lower temps while also squeezing out more FPS, this is the updated 2026 guide I keep getting asked for. I originally showed a static undervolt a couple years back (and yes, it’s still the king for temperatures), but BIOS updates and how AM4 has evolved means there are newer settings that are just straight-up worth using now. The cool part is this method is basically universal across AM4: 5600X, 5700X, 5800X3D, 5900X, etc. (just not the G/GT chips—those are different and I have separate videos for them). And I’m doing it the “works on anything” way through the AMD Overclocking menu so it doesn’t matter if you’re on ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, Biostar, or even some AliExpress board. Inside the BIOS, I walk you through two profiles. First is the static undervolt: set 4000 MHz and 1025 mV for massive temperature drops (I’m talking 30°C+), or go 4400 MHz around 1.15V if you want closer-to-stock performance with better temps. Second is the performance profile: PBO Advanced + Curve Optimizer (all cores, negative, start at 20) so the CPU boosts harder. Then I finish with the “free smoothness” tip: enable XMP/EXPO and sync FCLK/UCLK 1:1 (like 3600 RAM = 1800 FCLK) for better frametimes in competitive games.
