About This Video

I went out and grabbed the absolute cheapest LGA 1700 Intel DDR4 motherboard I could find on AliExpress: the Huananzhi H610M-K. This thing is tiny, barebones, and it’s missing a ton of physical features—no RGB, very limited rear I/O, a weird layout, and mine didn’t even come with a CMOS battery. It also showed up in a busted box with the board basically sticking out, so yeah, the “AliExpress experience” was fully present. But because you’re on Motive PCs, I’m not gonna drag it out: for the price, the short answer is yes, it can be a good buy—just don’t pair it with a high-power CPU. Where it really makes sense is with the weird laptop-to-desktop LGA1700 chips I’ve been testing (like the i7-13850HX adapters). Those CPUs are super power efficient at stock, so even this questionable 4-phase VRM setup is fine as long as you’re not doing power limit unlocks and trying to push 28 threads to the moon. The surprise here is the BIOS. It’s genuinely great for a cheap H610 board: power limit options, RAM tuning, undervolting support, and the usual stuff like Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. If you need more slots, more connectivity, or you want a “nice” main build for years with real overclocking headroom, spend the extra 20–30 bucks on a better chipset. But for a flip, a second PC, or a low-power build, this board is way more interesting than it looks.
