What does it actually look like inside a full-time adventure van that's been to over 20 countries? In this video, we open up the entire rear of our Winnebago Revel and go through every single piece of gear we carry — from bike racks and expedition boxes to hand-built drawer systems and a full vehicle recovery kit. No fluff, no fancy staging — this is our van exactly as it lives on a regular travel day. We break down our organization system, explain the thinking behind our custom Baltic birch drawers, share the gear we swear by for van life, overlanding, kayaking, climbing, and backcountry adventures, and even call out the gear that's let us down. If you're building a van, planning an overlanding setup, or just love seeing how people live life on the road, this video is going to give you a ton of useful ideas. About This Video

A lot of you have been asking what all the stuff is on the back of our Winnebago Revel, so in this video I open it all up and show you exactly how we actually travel—no staging, no “YouTube tidy.” We walk through our rear-door setup with the Owl Vans B2 frame and 1Up racks holding our two mountain bikes (including Kathy’s newer Specialized Rockhopper after our last bikes were stolen), plus the Sherpa plate with my DeMoss Delta Pro shovel. Then I unload our Owl expedition box piece by piece—chairs, a Therm-a-Rest hammock, bike lock bits, propane and backpacking fuel—and explain why I’m such a fan of rear door boxes for anything I don’t want inside the van. From there, we get into the real nuts-and-bolts systems that keep international overlanding smooth: my air-down/air-up kit (ARB inflator in an old Matt Cole big wall bag), a sprayer hose for the Revel’s water port, potable-water hose choices (and why I avoid the stretchy garden ones), quick-connect fittings, and a 30 PSI regulator to protect the van’s plumbing. I also show the less-glamorous stuff that matters when you’re far from a parts store—fluids, brake bleeding gear, winterizing by blowing out the lines (instead of RV antifreeze), and the little tools that save a trip. And yes—we talk about gear that’s let us down, like the “trasharoo” style spare-tire bag that’s been to 20+ countries with us… and is now literally self-destructing in the sun.
