In this video I’m doing my all-time favorite thing to film: a back to school supplies haul, but make it minimal and black & white. I’m filming a little early (I go back in September), but I wanted to get it up for you guys. Everything I picked up is from Walmart, Staples, and Daiso (it’s a Japanese dollar store, but the quality is actually so good). I start with the basics I genuinely use all year—folders over binders, because binders are just too bulky and a waste of space in my opinion. I show the exact Five Star folders I always repurchase, plus a super cheap clear folder I keep in my backpack to store loose leaf paper (this worked really well for me last year). Then I go through my matching Five Star notebooks and the paper I’m reusing from last year because I barely made a dent in it. For pens and writing tools, I keep it practical: 0.7 mechanical pencils because 0.5 breaks too easily for me, Pilot FriXion erasable pens (a lifesaver if you hate not being able to erase), and a set of Staedtler TriPlus fineliners I splurged on for journaling. I also share why I skipped buying new highlighters, plus my favorite Tombow Mono plastic erasers and darker 0.7 lead from Daiso.
