About This Video

In this video, I’m showing y’all how I styled a wash & go on an 18-inch afro curly V-part wig (human hair) and how I got it to look natural with my leave-out. I walk you through what the hair looked like straight out the packaging, how I washed it with shampoo and conditioner, and then how I customized it to fit my head. I’m big on shaping curly hair, so I cut the wig on a diagonal to give myself layers and volume—because we’re not doing the “helmet” look over here. For the actual wash & go, I start the same way I always do: drench the hair. Water is the key for definition, and then I go in with a leave-in spray, a mousse for definition/hold/volume, and a curl defining gel (more like a jelly) to really grip the curls. I used my little knockoff Tangle Teaser brush to get those juicy ringlets, and I did a little finger coiling too. For my leave-out, I used stronger hold products (a curling custard) and finger coiled the front so it would last, blend, and stretch better. By the end, the curls were shiny, full, defined, and honestly… it looked like my hair.
