About This Video

Hey y’all—today I’m taking you through my CURLSMAS Day 2 routine and exactly how I prep my natural hair under a blonde half wig. My hair had been up for about 3–4 weeks, so it was itchy, gunky, and had a lot of buildup. I show you what my hair looks like fresh out of that protective style, how I wash at the sink (because I’m not getting in the shower), and how I keep things simple but effective so my hair feels clean, moisturized, and ready to be braided back down. I start by parting my hair into two sections so I can really detangle and “attack” the shed hair that gets trapped when my hair’s been tucked away. I go in with a moisturizing cleanse first (because my hair was thirsty), then I follow up with a clarifying shampoo for that squeaky clean reset. After that, I deep condition, show you the shed hair (yes it was a lot, but that’s expected after weeks), and then I braid my hair back into cornrows with a slight side part this time. To finish, I oil my scalp, add moisture to my leave-out, tie it down with a scarf, and I’m ready to slap my wig on in the morning.
