About This Video

Hey y’all! In this video I’m finally back testing a new product on camera, and I went in with The Doux Bananas Xtreme Gel for a true one-product wash n go on my type 4 curls. I grabbed it from Walmart for around $16–$17, and I followed the directions—soaking wet hair, applying generously, and then sitting under the dryer. First impressions: it smells like straight bananas (I love it, but if you don’t like banana scents… you’ve been warned), and it gave me immediate shine and definition while I was styling. The biggest struggle for me was the packaging. Having to squeeze that bottle the whole time was honestly a hassle and started hurting my hands, and I kept thinking it needs a pump or something. But once my hair started drying, I got the cast I was hoping for, and the curls looked really promising. I came back days later (Sunday to Friday) and my hair was still shiny, still defined, still soft, and it even had a little crunch left—so the hold was definitely there. Final verdict: 10/10 recommend, worth the money, and it’s getting added to my staples.
