About This Video

In this video I’m refreshing my curls using the Dippity Do Curls Defrizz Curl Boosting Mousse (curl foam) that I grabbed from Marshalls for a steal. I’ve been hearing so much about it (and seeing people try it), so I wanted to test it out as a refresh first before I commit to using it on my actual type 4 texture. I’m working with my V-part wig today because I’ve had it in for like a month and a half, and I just needed to spruce things up for church—mainly the frizzy top pieces. I go through how I apply it (spray bottle with a little water, raking it through the frizzy sections, and lightly detangling). The mousse definitely helped the hair clump back up and look more defined, and it gave me a nice refreshed look once I dried it—about 89% dry when I showed the final. My biggest honest note is the scent: it’s not super sweet like I expected, and the more I used it, the more it started smelling a little chemical-y. Also, I personally wouldn’t use this mousse alone as a one-product wash-and-go on my real hair—I’d pair it with a gel for more hold and frizz control.
