In this video, I’m doing a Black-owned wash & go routine and showing y’all my real results on my type 4 curls. Even though Black History Month is over, I’m still shopping Black-owned beauty, period. I start on freshly washed hair (Mee Beauty Detox) and I deep conditioned with their Indulge Deep Conditioner, then I go in with a quick little braid style in the front because I like my wash & go big and voluminous—but I do not like hair all in my face all week. For the wash & go portion, I tested two Curls jellies: the Cashmere & Caviar Hair Jelly and the Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly. The Cashmere & Caviar felt nice and didn’t really flatten my roots, but it wasn’t gripping or defining the way I wanted, and I noticed more frizz where I used it. Once I switched to the Blueberry Bliss… baby, it was a complete difference—flatter roots, shinier curls, and way more definition. My only real complaint is I have to use a lot, and during the drying process my hair felt a little “product-y,” but the curls were juicy, defined, and lasted me about three days.
