About This Video

Hey you guys—welcome to the first video in my 2025 Black History Month series, where I use Black-owned products all February and give y’all my real results. For this one, I finally dug into a deep conditioner that’s been sitting in my stash for over a year: the Alikay Naturals Honey & Sage Deep Conditioner. Deep conditioning is literally my favorite step of wash day, so I went in ready to see if the hype was real—moisture, softness, curl clumping, and that “my hair feels alive again” kind of finish. In the video I break down the brand story (shoutout to Rochelle Alikay Graham-Campbell) and the product claims—honey for moisture retention, basu oil for dryness/itchy scalp, and sage for scalp circulation. I’m not gonna hold you: I did not like the smell, and the texture surprised me because it’s super liquidy (it even looks like gravy, I said what I said). But the way it penetrated my type 4 hair? Immediate. My curls started clumping during application, it felt luxurious, and after rinsing my hair felt moisturized, rejuvenated, and easier to detangle. I rated it a 10/10 and I’m definitely saving this kind of moisture for the winter time.
