In this video, I install a non-drill hood scoop from Air Design on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 — and I’m doing it in less-than-ideal conditions. It’s currently -29°C, which means the truck had to come inside and stay warm long enough for the adhesive to properly cure. That led to some creative garage shuffling, a cold start outside, and a full 24-hour indoor wait — but that’s real-world DIY, and that’s what this channel is all about. The hood scoop I chose is finished in Satin Black, which gives the truck a clean, aggressive look without being over the top. One thing I like about this setup is that it’s non-drill and fully reversible, meaning I can always change things up later — possibly even doing a two-tone or paint-matched version in the spring. This isn’t a performance mod or functional intake — it’s a design-focused upgrade, and I walk through the prep, alignment, install, and cold-weather considerations so you know exactly what you’re getting into. I’m also saving a few other Air Design pieces — including black hardware and a MultiPro tailgate applique — for a future video once I decide on the final look. About This Video

This is what I’m dealing with: -29°C… just to make another DIY video. In this one, I’m enhancing the look of my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 with a non-drill Air Design hood scoop in Satin Black. It’s not functional—no extra air to the engine, no performance gains—this is purely a design mod to make the truck look a little more aggressive. And if you’ve been eyeballing one of these, I wanted you to see what it actually looks like on the hood before you spend the money. Because it was brutally cold, I had to get the truck started, warmed up, and pulled inside so the adhesive could cure properly. I walk through the real-world prep and install: cleaning the hood (I used isopropyl alcohol since my truck was wrapped), test fitting and marking for alignment, and then applying the polyurethane bead in the channel next to the tape—without blocking the drain sections. I left it inside for a full 24 hours with tape and about 20 lb of weight on it, then checked the leading edge and overall bond the next day. Fitment is spot-on, it’s solid, and since it’s reversible, I can always change the look later—paint-matched, two-tone, or even making the insert gloss black to tie into the rest of the truck.
