Sometimes you just have to try stuff — and that’s exactly what Mrs. Donslife and I did on the C8 with a split window rear applique from BILLFARO. This is one of those mods that can look amazing… or it can completely ruin the look of the car, so I went into it not totally convinced. We start by pulling off the “ski box” (rear glass shade) and some winter decals, then I deal with the one conflict: my rear lip had to come off because the applique needs that area clean and flat to stick properly. From there it’s a straightforward DIY install: clean the glass, do a test fit (the notches help line it up), wipe the contact areas with 70% isopropyl alcohol, then peel and stick using the pre-installed tape. The piece is ABS plastic and it actually showed up closer to carbon flash than I expected, which matters on my car because I’ve got carbon flash and real carbon fiber everywhere. Final verdict? It doesn’t match perfectly (more black metallic than carbon flash metallic), but with my black roof and vinyl accents it blends in well and makes the C8 a little more unique for the next car show. Tacky or tasteful? I’ll let you decide — but we were both pleasantly surprised.
