Welcome back to Donslife! In today’s video, I ran into a problem I didn’t expect after upgrading my C8 Corvette with a carbon fiber front fascia… 👉 There’s NO access for the tow recovery hook. At first, I thought I could live with it — but with several road trips coming up, I realized this could turn into a serious issue. If the car ever needs to be loaded onto a flatbed, not having proper tow hook access could lead to damage you definitely don’t want. So… I made the call. I cut into my carbon fiber fascia. Yeah… not something I took lightly. In this video, I’ll walk you through: The problem with aftermarket fascias (that nobody talks about) Why tow hook access actually matters The step-by-step process of modifying the fascia My honest thoughts after doing it 🔧 Products Featured in This Video Carbon Fiber Front Fascia: 👉 https://extremeonlinestore.com/?ref=donslife OE Tow Recovery Hook: Use Promo Code: DON404 for 5% OFF your subtotal on your next order: 👉 https://404parts.com/products/c8-corvette-recover-tow-hook?srsltid=AfmBOorXEMuiHFjCLKi6LLZLqNTeF-bMgGqyTCvwGY6_1kWc6gzteviK ⚠️ Important Note This is a DIY modification and may not be for everyone. About This Video

This is my Corvette C8 Stingray, and I created a problem—one I had to fix in this video. About a year ago I swapped my original carbon flash metallic front fascia (with PPF) for an all carbon fiber fascia, and I still love the look. But there was one big issue nobody really talks about with some aftermarket fascias: there’s no trap door or provision for the front tow recovery hook. With several road trips (and a rally) coming up, I realized one rear recovery point isn’t going to cut it if the car ever needs to be loaded or recovered. So I made the call to drill into my carbon fiber fascia. Not something I took lightly, but “safety first,” right? I walk through my process using educated guessing, a pilot hole, checking alignment with a light/borescope idea, and then slowly opening the hole until the tow hook location lined up. To keep it functional and clean-looking, I used a rubber grommet setup—one I can cut for the hook and another sealed one to keep water and dirt out when I’m not using it. It could’ve gone horribly wrong, but we got it done, and now I’ll have proper front recovery access for the trips ahead.
