In this video I install Boost Auto Parts’ Ion Series illuminated door handles on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4, and I walk you through the whole job step-by-step so there are no surprises. I’m talking door panel removal (7mm screws), pulling the speaker for easier access, removing the factory handle with a T25, and then getting the new handle seated correctly so that “claw” mechanism grabs like it should. I also show how the Ion Series handles reuse the factory passive entry connector, and how Boost labels the harnesses/modules so you’re not guessing which door is which. The real work is wiring: running harnesses from each door up to the control module in the driver footwell, routing through the door boots without tearing them, and keeping everything away from the window track (cable management is important, folks). Then I tie the module into the BCM using the specified pins (black connector pin 13, plus spots on the brown connector), add the inline fuse, and ground it properly. Once it’s back together, I test passive lock/unlock, welcome lighting, and the sequential signals/hazards at night. My final setup is white DRLs on the handles (so it’s not distracting), with sequential turn signals—clean OEM+ vibes that actually make the truck feel more premium.
