Life’s too short to leave cars parked all winter — so I decided to actually drive my Corvette C8 through winter with a temporary livery, roof box, and functional light bar. A couple winters ago, I created a fun, temporary winter livery for my Corvette C8—and after seeing how many people loved (and questioned) it, I knew it was time to do it again. This time, I leaned even harder into a winter reconnaissance / snow-rescue aesthetic, complete with a roof-mounted ski box and a fully functional light bar. Before anyone panics—this setup is 100% temporary. No paint, no permanent mods, just vinyl, creativity, and a reminder that cars are meant to be enjoyed… even in winter. In this video, I walk through: Why I decided to bring back the winter livery The inspiration behind the snow-ready, “utility” look Adding a roof-top ski box to a mid-engine Corvette Installing and using a functional light bar And yes… actually driving the C8 in winter conditions Some people will love this. Some people will hate it. That’s kind of the point. About This Video

Welcome back to Don Life. In this one, I take my 2023 Corvette C8 Stingray and basically give it a winter personality swap. A couple winters ago I did a controversial winter livery, and since we’ve still got a solid chunk of winter left here in Canada, I decided to lean into “Winter Warrior 2.0” with a winter reconnaissance / snow-rescue vibe. No paint, no permanent mods—just vinyl graphics, my roof-mounted ski box, and a fully functional light bar to turn some heads and make some content. I walk you through how I mounted and wired the light bar, how I tucked the wiring as clean as possible for something temporary, and why I changed the plan mid-build (yes, we called an audible). Instead of running power all the way from the car’s battery, I moved the setup to the ski box and powered it with a lightweight lithium iron phosphate battery feeding a wireless switch panel, so I can run the lights for hours—maybe days—then charge it at home. The takeaway is simple: cars are meant to be enjoyed. This C8 is protected with paint protection film, it’s on winter tires, and no Corvettes were harmed in the making of this video—just a little chaos, a few laughs, and a bunch of smiles from people who never expect to see a C8 out in winter.
