About This Video

I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for a couple of weeks, and there’s a lot to love here—especially one feature I didn’t realize I’d miss so quickly on other phones: the new Privacy Display. With a single tap (or my setup: a double-press of the side button), it blocks people around you from seeing your screen, which is genuinely perfect for trains, cafés, and offices. It’s not flawless though—because it’s only using the new narrow pixels, sharpness drops and brightness takes a small hit. For me, those trade-offs are absolutely worth it, and I’m using it basically every day when I leave the house. Beyond that, the display is still best-in-class: it’s brighter, smoother, now 10-bit, and the new Proscaler surprisingly improves lower-res content (YouTube is where I noticed it most). The S26 Ultra is also more comfortable to hold thanks to the softer corners and slightly lighter build, even though Samsung has gone back to aluminum instead of titanium. Camera upgrades aren’t huge on paper, but the wider apertures and improved processing make photos and video look brighter, more accurate, and more “pro,” plus the new Horizon Lock is a seriously cool addition. Performance is flagship-level with the latest Snapdragon and better cooling, battery is still strong at 8–9 hours screen-on time, and charging is faster at 60W—my biggest complaint is still the lack of built-in magnets like MagSafe/Pixel Snap.
