About This Video

I’ve been using Macs for over 10 years, and in this video I walk you through the first 27 things I’d do on a brand-new MacBook Neo to get the most out of it. I start with the big one: protecting battery health by turning on Optimized Battery Charging (heat is the number one killer of battery health), and I also show you where to check your maximum capacity so you know what “good” looks like over time. From there, I focus on the stuff that makes your Mac feel instantly faster and more “yours”: trackpad settings (tracking speed, proper right-click, tap to click, and yes—turning off natural scrolling), plus display tweaks like using “More Space” scaling to fit more on a 13-inch screen. I also cover Night Shift scheduling, light vs dark mode, and a few appearance tweaks that change the whole vibe in seconds. Then we get into productivity: window snapping and true split screen in full screen, cutting down boot time by cleaning up Login Items, and the gestures + keyboard shortcuts I use constantly (Command+Tab is my all-time favorite). I also optimize Finder (sidebar, path bar, status bar, and an AirDrop toolbar button), show how I set up widgets without killing battery, and how to instantly clean a messy desktop with Stacks.
