I called it out immediately—stuff like Audio Batch Converter being a paid add-on for so long never made sense to me, so seeing it bundled is honestly “don’t tell me I didn’t say I told you so” territory. I also dig into the new pricing and release strategy. Studio One Pro 7 is listed at $199 for new users, and upgrades are $149—plus now even previous Artist owners can jump to Pro at that upgrade price, which is kinda wild. They’re also promising 3–4 feature drops per year and a “one year of new features included” model with perpetual licenses, which makes me wonder how often the paid upgrade cycle really hits. I’m still skeptical because I got burned on past upgrades that didn’t bring enough value, and I compare that directly to my experience on Logic Pro where the feature jumps have been way bigger for way less hassle.
