#Izotope #Neutron4 - The Best all in one - Plug-in VST - Studio One 5 Find It here: https://www.izotope.com/en/products/neutron.html Las Vegas Downunder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Orl8_bR1m4&t=718s Unmask divides the frequency spectrum into 32 bands, allowing for a more transparent sound when processing audio, unlike a compressor which could be limited to 1–3 bands. The Unmask module is a dynamic processing tool, meaning that its processing is applied only during the times when masking occurs, as opposed to a fixed EQ.

About This Video

In this video I’m back in Studio One 5 checking out iZotope Neutron 4 on a track I’m currently mixing (almost finished), and I give you my honest opinion on what’s actually useful versus what’s just marketing. I talk about why I’m not trying to be biased even when a company sends me something, then I walk through the modules I’m leaning on the most—especially the updated Exciter, Sculptor, and the new Unmask workflow. The Exciter is a big win for me because they’ve basically brought “Trash-style” harmonic distortion into Neutron, so I can blend different flavors (tape/retro/warm/tube plus the new distortion options) without loading extra plugins. Sculptor is the sleeper tool here: I’m finding it super useful on vocals for getting clarity and top-end presence without making things harsh, and it saves me from overthinking EQ moves. The main “killing the game” moment is how I use Unmask like a 32-band dynamic unmasking tool. I set it up in mid/side inside Studio One using the Splitter, then sidechain my vocal into Unmask on the mid channel of a two-track so the vocal can sit clearer without smashing the sides. It’s subtle, but it opens a pocket and keeps the track feeling full and authentic.
