Hi friends! In part 2 of my craft room makeover, I’m finally getting my new office/workspace set up for Crochet By Kara Co, and I’m walking you through the furniture layout we landed on after taking measurements and realizing what we could (and couldn’t) fit. This room started as an empty echo-y space, but once we painted, laid down a rug to cover the old stained carpet, and started building furniture, it really began to feel like the next chapter of our small business. I also replaced the window blinds (a total fiasco that took us like two hours), but we got it done. I show you where everything is going: my desk + chair + drawer unit, my mom’s desk (she’s the main one doing our safety eyes, so the desk with the built-in outlets is perfect for plugging in her UV lamp), and our order packing station shelf for boxes, poly mailers, stickers, and the label printer. The big focus of this video is the new yarn storage plan—cube organizers stacked and turned sideways to maximize space—and I’m crossing my fingers it’ll hold my entire yarn stash (we’re talking 500–600 skeins). Next up in part 3 is the “insane” organizing day: yarn organization and fully loading up the packing station, plus the final cozy touches like a pink chair and Eden’s little pink palace bed.
