About This Video

I’ve been testing the Segway Navimow X3 series for a few months, and this video is my full real-world experience living with it—setup, mapping, daily mowing, and the little things that make or break a robot mower. The X3 is a wire-free RTK GPS mower, and Segway’s “EFS 3.0” navigation is basically GPS plus a camera (VSLAM) plus internal sensors, so it can stay locked-in even around trees or between buildings. I walk through what’s in the box (dock + RTK reference station) and exactly how I mapped my front yard, side strip, fenced backyard, and even my neighbor’s yard using the app’s joystick controls and map editing tools. Once it was mapped, the mowing performance was the satisfying part: clean perimeter passes, then straight parallel lines—no chaotic crisscrossing. It alternates direction between sessions to avoid ruts, and in my testing I didn’t see track marks. I also cover obstacle avoidance (camera + AI, with a couple of “false alarm” pauses), slope handling with all-wheel drive and traction control, and weather smarts where it delays mowing for rain, frost, or even heavy dew. Edging is still the classic robot mower weak spot, and while Segway has an optional string trimmer attachment, I couldn’t test it because it was sold out. Overall, if you’ve got a larger or more complex yard and you’re comfortable with smart home-style setup, the X3 feels like having a scheduled groundskeeper.
