I’m joined by Matt from Midwest Turf Tech to compare cut quality, setup, navigation, and day-to-day usability across three heavy hitters: Sunseeker X7 – Standout floating deck with dual blades for excellent cut quality; RTK + vision navigation. In my yard tests it produced the most consistent stripes/patterns. Segway Navimow X3 – Best user experience/app, optional Trimmer (Pioneer Edition) add-on for edging; designed for larger lawns with fast coverage. Sveaverken Blix (High-Cut) – LiDAR + RGB vision, no external RTK base needed, quick setup and smart incident photos; high-cut version ranges 40–80 mm. My ranking (today): #1 - Sunseeker X7 (best cut) → floating deck & dual-disc design really shine #2 - Blix (easiest wire-free setup + reliable LiDAR/vision) #3 - Segway Navimow X3 (top-tier app UX; trimmer is clever but still manual-hold for safety) We also touch on why AWD can matter for tricky terrain and note an honorable mention to Mammotion Luba AWD for steep slopes/uneven yards. About This Video

In this video I finally narrow the robot mower chaos down to my top three after a full summer of real-world testing in my (pretty challenging) Minnesota backyard. I brought Matt from Midwest Turf Tech back to help me debate what actually matters: cut quality, setup/mapping, navigation tech (RTK vs LiDAR + cameras), and the day-to-day stuff that makes you either love a mower…or return it. We’re looking at the Segway Navimow X3 with the trimmer attachment, the Sunseeker X7, and the Sveaverken Blix High-Cut (aka the little “alien” with the helmet). For cut quality, the Sunseeker X7 is the clear winner in my yard—dual discs plus that floating deck just lays down the most consistent pattern/stripes. The Blix lands at #2 overall for me because it’s the easiest wire-free setup and I love not having to “dick around” with an RTK base station; it also sends incident photos so you can see exactly what happened when it gets stuck or slips. The Segway comes in #3: the app/user experience is phenomenal and the trimmer is a clever idea, but you have to hold the button within Bluetooth range for safety, and in my yard it struggled more around garden beds and fence lines. I also give an honorable mention to Mammotion Luba AWD for steep/uneven terrain where all-wheel drive really matters.
