This is just my initial testing of the Echo Spot so I could get this information out ASAP The new Echo Spot is a hybrid between a pop/dot & the show 5, it displays a clock with weather, it plays music and makes a nice alarm clock. You cannot pull up camera feeds or watch videos and you can only control smart home devices by using voice first. The audio quality is comparable to the dot & pop. I've only had the device since this afternoon, so I'll do a more in-depth review once I've had more time to use it. About This Video

Amazon just dropped the new Echo Spot (latest gen), and I wanted to get an ASAP, real-world comparison out there. In this video I line it up against three devices people actually buy for bedrooms and offices: the Echo Pop, the Echo Dot with Clock, and the Echo Show 5. I walk through what each one is best at—basic speaker, clock visibility, and whether you’re getting a real screen experience or more of a “clock + weather” display. I also do quick audio testing across low, medium, high, and max volume using a decibel meter (I can’t play the music on the video because of royalties, so I show the dB levels instead). My takeaway: the Pop is a bit quieter (it’s basically a Dot cut in half, so less speaker), but it can still fill a room and works great for music and alarms. The Echo Spot feels like a balance between a Dot and a Show 5—nice clock with weather and solid audio—but it’s limited: I couldn’t pull up camera feeds, and you can’t really do on-screen smart home control like you can on the Show 5. If you want quick, touch-friendly smart home dashboards and cameras, the Show 5 still wins.
