Today I toured Admit One’s smart home showroom in Edina, Minnesota, and they basically let me explore it on my own—so I walked room to room calling out what stood out and how it’s actually being used. Up front it’s more of a client welcome area with samples (furniture and shades), but once you get deeper you start seeing the fun stuff: lighting control demos, audio options, video distribution, and multiple control platforms all set up so customers can touch and feel the difference. The highlight is their cinema space—tiered seating, snack ledge, big hidden speakers, cove lighting, and a massive screen that still looks bright even with lights on. I also checked out their rack gear and talked through how pro installs should feel “seamless” (experienced, not seen), like hiding speakers, boxing in TVs cleanly, and using power conditioning/surge protection. We compared control ecosystems too: Crestron for high-end luxury builds, and Elan as more of an entry-level price point. And as a doorbell guy, I loved seeing the 2N video doorbell pop up across multiple Crestron touchscreens so you can answer, dismiss, unlock doors, or trigger lights from wherever you are in the house.
