It was one of those proper “sun and music, perfect!” afternoons — I set up outside in Suffolk and just went for a relaxed, request-led stream with a bit of everything. The light was so bright I could barely see the chat (I’m basically squinting at the phone the whole time), but we made it work: quick sound checks, a bit of cable drama (I remembered exactly why I stopped using that cable), and then straight into tunes with the usual banter. Song-wise it’s a real mixed bag: “Make You Feel My Love”, “One Hand in My Pocket”, “Your Song”, “Lean on Me”, ELO’s “Livin’ Thing”, Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” (Chris Cornell is one of my vocal idols), “Don’t You Want Me”, “I Want to Break Free”, “Top of the World”, “Creep”, “Hit the Road Jack”… and yes, Pokémon happened. We also had a proper little moment with our wedding song (“Let’s Do It”), plus Lisa jumped in for “Complicated”, which was a laugh because we’re absolutely cheating with lyrics on the tablet.
