Tonight’s video is a proper little “husband and wife duo” kind of vibe — me (Ben) and April setting up at a club and just getting stuck into tunes, requests, and a bit of banter in between. It’s one of those streams where you catch the secret start before everyone piles in, we’re checking the sound, having a laugh, and basically saying: chuck requests in, we can’t promise anything, but we’ll always try. I’m also doing the classic reminder that donations aren’t necessary but they do help me keep doing this, and tips get queue bumps for song requests. We play a bunch of well-known songs and try to make it feel like you’re right there in the room with us — the whole “the more you drink, the better we sound” joke (drink responsibly, obviously) and that warm, pub-gig energy. There’s also some behind-the-scenes chat: where we are, what the room’s like, the fact it’s a big space with snooker tables behind us, and how I handle the stream when I need to go and speak to family during the break. It’s live, it’s a bit chaotic, and it’s exactly what gigging is actually like — tunes first, real life happening around it, and a lot of laughs along the way.
