Today’s stream is one of those properly “off the cuff” ones — me and wifey set up in a pub beer garden because it was finally nice out… and then the sun immediately started doing that classic UK thing of disappearing behind a massive cloud. We’re juggling a slightly chaotic setup (stands loosening, volume/EQ tweaks, me not being able to see a thing in non-prescription sunglasses), but we crack on anyway because that’s basically live busking in a nutshell. Musically it’s a proper mix of song requests and duo bits: we kick off with “Kiss Me”, dip into “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da”, “Champagne Supernova”, “Wicked Game” (plus my little rant about that awkward awards-show moment and Jim Carrey absolutely nailing it), and then into duo territory with “Little Talks” and “Another Love”. There’s a bit of chat about looking after my voice (I’ve not been streaming as much), gigging around Suffolk, and the reality that most of you are scattered all over the world. It’s basically one of those streams where the music’s the point… but the behind-the-scenes faff is part of the fun too.
