I’m back again for a proper lively English pub gig — the sort of night where there’s no set list, just me trying to keep up with whatever the room (and the internet) fancies. We’ve genuinely got about 2,700 songs knocking about, so it’s a lot of “what do you want?” and then making it work on the fly. You’ll hear the crowd properly get involved too — counting songs in, shouting requests, and having a laugh when I start negotiating like it’s a market stall: “Do you want cheese or a good song?” Musically, it’s a proper mixed bag: big singalongs like Backstreet Boys, The Killers, Soft Cell, a bit of George Michael, and yes… Oasis. I even do my usual bit where I pretend I’m drawing a line under the Oasis requests, then immediately get dragged back in (and I may or may not finish with the “greatest Oasis song” as a joke). Behind the scenes, I chat about how chaotic busy pubs can be — nearly losing mics to drunk dancing — plus the reality of trying to balance streaming, voice issues, and the algorithm. It’s a fun night, but it’s also honest: I talk about having a hard week mentally and how playing through it can be exhausting, but worth it.
