Feeling good on a Wednesday… until the wind tries to ruin it. In this stream I’m juggling the classic British “it’ll change every 5 minutes” weather, sorting my camera/lighting so I don’t look like a ghost, and multi-streaming across YouTube and Twitch (and, briefly, TikTok… which I’m still absolutely learning). I’m taking requests like I always do — chuck them in the chat and I’ll do what I can — and I’m honest about it: if I can play it and I fancy it, I’ll play it. If I really don’t want to, there’s always a little bit of “capitalism” to bump you up the queue. Musically, it’s a proper mixed bag: I kick things off with “Forever in Blue Jeans,” warm up with Radiohead (“High and Dry” and a big ol’ “Creep”), then settle into tunes like “Fields of Gold” and the Dropkick Murphys version of “Black Velvet Band.” There’s also a cat intermission because Paddy turns up, gets cuddles, and basically steals the show. I even play one of my originals, “Jigsaw,” and chat a bit about writing it to be as catchy as possible. Behind the songs it’s the usual: live community energy, requests flying in from all over, and me trying to keep the vibe positive (and the stream working) mid-week.
