Just a little video on which seeds I am starting inside this Spring 2026 I have a few grow lights I use.

About This Video

Good morning, gardening friends—this video is a quick peek at what I’m starting indoors for Spring 2026 and the little grow light setup I’m honestly just really thankful to have. Starting seedlings in a window never worked for me (hello, leggy plants), so now I use a few grow lights and only start what actually benefits from an early start where I live. For me, that’s mainly tomatoes, peppers, and sunflowers—everything else I usually just direct sow. I walk through what’s sprouting (and what’s not), including several tomatoes (like brown sugar tomatoes and my saved “piran” tomato seeds), pablano peppers, golden honey peppers that haven’t popped yet, shallots that are coming up, kale that’s packed in tight, and a couple flowers I’m excited about—snapdragons and some glodiaria I’ve never grown before. I also share how I water: once things sprout, I like base watering to support roots drinking, but when seeds are still trying to come up, I top-water lightly to keep the surface damp without soaking (especially in Louisiana moisture where mold can happen fast). And yes—my whole setup is sitting on top of a broken espresso machine, because coffee shop life never really leaves our house.
