About This Video

In this video I’m giving you my final, real-world review of the Pit Boss Pro Series 1150 after owning it for over a year—close to two years—and putting a bunch of cooks on it. I go through the good and the bad so you can decide if it’s the right pellet grill for you in 2025. The 1150 sits right in the middle of the lineup (not too big, not too small), and the first thing I talk about is the size: 1,155 square inches of cooking space, which is plenty for parties and backyard get-togethers. I also get into the stuff that actually matters on long cooks—like the 32 lb hopper. For overnight briskets that run 15–17 hours, that hopper is a huge plus because you can fill it up and not worry about running out of pellets. I cover features I really like, like phone connectivity for monitoring temps and the ashtray removal system that makes cleanup way easier. I also talk about the sear option: it’s nice to have, but it creates a hot spot because there’s no heat deflector, so I recommend adding a heat deflector (and I’m working on a video to show the right one). At the end of the day, this grill is a tank, it’s been solid for me with zero issues, and at $699 it’s hard to beat for what you get—especially if you’re just starting out on pellet grills.
