About This Video

In this video I tried to do the most BadGameDev thing possible: make a horror game in just 1 hour. The twist is I leaned hard on Tripo 3.0 to crank out the 3D assets fast—starting with a horror enemy, then a creepy tree for the environment, and later a weapon and a building. The workflow is basically: prompt → generate an image preview → one-click 3D model generation → tweak/optimize → export → drop it into Unity and pray it doesn’t explode. Once I had the models, I jumped into Unity and built a quick forest-y map by stretching a cube into a ground plane, then copy-pasting the Tripo trees around to fake a proper horror environment. I darkened the lighting to instantly make everything feel more “horror,” then added the enemy and programmed it to wander around avoiding trees and chase the player when they’re in range—pretty standard horror enemy behavior. I also used Tripo’s retopology on the weapon and building to clean them up and make them feel more game-ready. The takeaway: if your goal is to prototype a horror game fast, AI-generated 3D assets can get you from “nothing” to “playable” ridiculously quickly. It’s not a full, polished horror game in an hour, but it is absolutely enough to get an enemy, a weapon, and an environment up and running.
