About This Video

In this video I tried to make a 3D game in just 1 hour, which is already a terrible idea… so I made it worse (better?) by generating all the main 3D assets with Hitem3D. The whole setup is simple: I upload an image, hit generate, and it spits out a 3D model. I decided to build a quick FPS prototype, so I needed three core assets: a gun, an enemy, and a building to act as the environment. After generating each model, I downloaded them and imported everything into Unity. I used an FPS template so movement and shooting were already working, then swapped in the Hitem3D gun model as my new weapon. Next I dropped in the enemy model and programmed it to follow the player, which instantly made it feel like an actual game instead of a museum exhibit. Finally I generated a building model for the level, placed it into the scene, and did a few quick polish passes like lighting and texture changes. The takeaway: for fast prototyping, image-to-3D is genuinely useful—if you can find an image, you can get a usable model and get to “playable” way faster.
