About This Video

Game developers do the same thing over and over: make games. And supposedly you get better. I’ve been pretty bad at game dev for a while, so I tested the only scientific method I know—spending a full year making a bunch of games and seeing if I could evolve from Bad Game Dev to Good Game Dev (spoiler: no). In this video I walk through every project, what I tried, and what actually worked… accidentally. I start with my first-ever horror game, Clone.AI, where I crammed basically every horror trope into one game: no music (just atmosphere), dark black-and-white visuals, sound effects, jump scares, a mouse-maze puzzle, and “realistic” combat with a gun that only has five bullets. Then I let ChatGPT run wild: I used it to code a Minecraft remake in Unity (terrain, block placing/breaking, generation), and even to build a horror game from scratch with a forest asset, enemy AI, and a jump scare. I also speedran a 10-minute horror maze game, and finished with a 3D Unreal Engine MrBeast horror game featuring a Fiverr-made possessed MrBeast model, briefcase objectives, and a timed enemy spawn. Did I become a good dev? Absolutely not—but I did ship a lot of chaos.
