About This Video

This is Combat.io — my top-down 2D fighting game that originally started as a fake multiplayer .io game. I’ve always wanted to remake it in 3D, so I did the most sensible thing possible: I used Rosebud AI, which is basically a chatbot that makes games. I prompted it to generate a stylized first-person fighter with a player and an enemy, and it immediately spat out a playable arena where I could move with WASD and click to punch while an enemy AI chased me around. From there, I kept upgrading the base game with prompts: health bars above enemies (and removing the UI text), a bigger map, first-person fist sprites that animate when I punch, and extra lighting to give the arena a weird, unique vibe. Then I added multiple enemy types (normal, faster, and tankier) and switched the whole structure into a wave system where enemies spawn randomly and the game advances when you clear them. To make it feel more like Combat.io, I added randomly spawning health packs and boosters: speed, shield, and strength. My highly-advanced strategy was clicking as fast as possible while circling enemies like a gremlin. Finally, I swapped in new 3D models from Rosebud templates, and that’s how I got the core Combat.io features into a 3D remake.
