Sometimes it’s the little things that bring out the best in something. This modified Gremlin core makes this a real Tour type bowling ball. Scary, but true. And you’ll want this one in your bag for the tournament season.
About This Video
What’s going on everybody—Brandon, Back After 10, and in this one I’m putting the Roto Grip Gremlin Tour X to work. I’ll be honest, I’m a little biased coming in because I threw it at a center I don’t normally bowl well at, and it still looked really good. Then I brought it back home to AMF Stardust Lanes here in Grove City, Ohio to see if it was the ball or just a good day. I break down what it is (Rondure Core X / VR1 Hybrid cover) and why I tweaked mine to 3000 grit even though it comes 4000—because it was a little too clean for me and surface is everything.
On the lane, I moved all over the place—up the boards, farther left, even tried that “straighter is greater” look around 8 at the arrows. What stood out is how round, smooth, and continuous it is. It’s not a “hooks at your toes” ball and it’s not that super-late jackknife either—this is that no-frills, Tour-type piece that lives right in the middle and just lets you play a bunch of games. If you’re looking for a versatile tournament-season ball that can strike from a lot of places, the Gremlin Tour X is scary good.
