I jumped on here right after getting off work because Columbia 300 posted an official statement on their Facebook page, and it’s as black-and-white as it gets: they’ve made the decision to retire the Columbia 300 brand. That’s wild to even say out loud, because Columbia 300 is a name a lot of us have known our whole lives, and it feels like losing a piece of bowling history. I also talk about how this didn’t come completely out of nowhere. There’s been speculation for years, and one of the biggest recent indicators was that Columbia 300 wasn’t allowed to be used on tour—because the licensing/registration piece (under Brunswick) wasn’t paid, which really hinted something bigger was happening behind the scenes. As far as what’s next, the White Dot line is officially discontinued (with some inventory still out there), and any remaining Columbia 300 performance balls will be sold while supplies last—but they won’t be in the 2026/2027 catalogs. Bottom line: Columbia 300 is gone, and yeah… it’s real.
