The Brunswick Energize will help you strike with more power than it's predecessors!
About This Video
What is up everybody—it's Brandon, Back After 10. In this video I’m reviewing the upcoming Brunswick Energize (release date October 23rd), and this one is a really interesting “best of both worlds” kind of piece. It takes the Vaporize core (which I absolutely loved—I shot 812 with my Vaporize) and pairs it with the Hypnotize cover: that HK22C hybrid, polished, with Brunswick compound out of box. I drilled mine 60 x 4 1/2 x 40, the same layout I’ve been using on my asym balls, and I threw it on a fresh house shot.
The biggest thing I noticed immediately: this ball is insanely responsive off friction. It sees friction and it goes—violent off the spot—so for my hand/speed/rev rate, there is no world where I’m comfortably playing right with it. I had to get into the soup (I’m talking standing 32, looking ~15), and even when I tried to “take my hand out” and play track, it still wanted to jump. Compared to my Brunswick Combat (the crown jewel of my bag), the Combat is cleaner and smoother; the Energize is the one I grab when I need more shape and pop down lane. Color scheme? Not my favorite. But reaction-wise, this is strong, continuous, and I can see tournament bowlers and league bowlers loving it—especially if you’re replacing a shined-up Mesmerize, want more pop than a Hypnotize, or want something stronger/more continuous than a Vaporize.
