Week 13 league night is a big one for me—my team (Mo Cushion for the Pushin) is sitting in first place, and we’re bowling the number two team. We’re giving up 63 pins, so every spare matters, and I’m telling y’all right now: make your spares, kids. I started game one with the Evil Eye and it just had me fighting 10-pins and getting sloppy with it, so I made the call to get out of it quick. The main story of this video is me switching into the Brunswick Danger Zone Purple Ice (the new Danger Zone Pearl) for the first time in actual league competition. I drilled it late Friday evening and I’m also testing some new layouts—this one is 60 x 4 1/2 x 4. What I’m seeing so far is a smooth, rounded look that blends the lane better for me than the solid version when that solid starts getting a little too “wibby.” I also talk through why ball speed and surface matter more than people want to admit, plus we get the usual live-league chaos, banter, and me being mad at myself for dropping a tight game by four.
