In this video I review the ThieAudio Origin IEMs at $849, and honestly, for me this is “the original bass” kind of experience: it’s the best basshead IEM I’ve heard in a really long while, but it’s also surprisingly balanced where it matters. The Origin has a huge sub-bass lift (I’m talking roughly 10–20 dB of extra sub-bass), and it hits with that deep, punchy, physical thump, yet after the sub-bass it settles into a pretty neutral, linear midrange with a tasteful uplift in the mid/upper treble. The end result is a U-shaped sound that still comes across natural. I also talk build, comfort, and accessories, because the Origin is extremely ergonomic and ventilated, with bone conduction that (as ThieAudio says) is meant to add body across the whole sound, not just bass. Despite the vents, I still get around 25–35 dB passive isolation, basically custom-level, and comfort is excellent. Importantly: the stock cable is genuinely great, one of the best I’ve seen, and you don’t need to “lie to yourself” about upgrades—my DDHiFi Nix cable wasn’t an improvement over stock, it was mainly for ergonomics. Sound-wise, what surprised me most is the midrange: it’s the best ThieAudio midrange I’ve heard so far—clean, precise, color-free—though a bit cold, so it prioritizes accuracy over romance. With the holographic stage, strong separation, and low distortion, I ended up calling it the best IEM I’ve had from Linsoul collaborations, and a top pick if you’re an analytical listener who wants to hear absolutely everything.
