In this video I review the Lotoo PAW GT2, a $3,200 flagship digital audio player that’s not about getting lost in specs—it’s about sound. I go over the design (yes, it’s thick and heavy), the slightly bluish display tint, and the fact that it doesn’t get super bright in direct sunlight. On the plus side, you get a natural leather case in the box, a factory-applied screen protector, a protected volume wheel, both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs, and something I really appreciate: a full-size SD card slot. Then I focus on what matters: how it plays music and how it drives headphones. Battery life is around 10 hours even on balanced, and the driving power is genuinely insane—I can even recommend it for the HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled, which is rare for a DAP. Sonically, GT2 is traditionally gentle and musically revealing: high resolution without turning analytical, with a wet, refined character that stays non-fatiguing even with sharp instruments like trumpets. Balanced is more neutral (my preference), while single-ended is warmer and smoother. The big surprise is how cohesive and emotional it sounds—this is the kind of player that makes you feel the song, not just hear “information.”
