About This Video

Howdy everybody—Omar here, your Audio Amigo. In this episode I put the brand new Simgot Supermix 5 under the microscope: a $220 “quadrid” IEM that drops the Supermix 4’s PZT tweeter and replaces it with a larger bone conduction driver plus an extra balanced armature. I walk through the bigger box, the accessories (including the magnetic case), and that modular 3.5/4.4 cable that’s so close to perfect… except it’s annoyingly stiff and kinks like it has a mind of its own. Sound-wise, I break down what the bone conduction is actually doing here—both the good and the bad. Yes, you can still get that springy/buzzy thing when you touch the shells or even cough in quiet moments, but it’s noticeably more refined than a lot of budget bone conduction sets, with fewer tonal “wooden/hollow” side effects. Bass is controlled but satisfying with some tactility, mids are more forward and natural than I expected from Simgot, and the classic Simgot sparkle is still here—just more subdued and less fatiguing than the Supermix 4. I also cover impedance effects, and then compare it to the Kiwi Ears Etude, Supermix 4, Aevoix Grit, and Penon Fan 3S before landing on my ranking: the Supermix 5 hits my “this is brilliant” tier as a refined, daily-driver bone conduction all-rounder.
