About This Video

Howdy everybody—Omar here, your Audio Amigo, back with another installment of The Planar Project (Episode 17). In this video I review the Letshuoer Astralis, a $180 planar IEM built around a brand-new 15mm driver design with circular traces and circular magnets. I go through the whole package: the familiar Letshuoer “hockey puck” hard case, the screw-on modular cable (3.5/4.4), tips, and the big news that production units include the Letshuoer DT01 Pro dongle. I also cover build, vents (no driver flex for me), comfort (6-hour flight approved), the “cool wall,” and the Council of Ladies verdict. Sound-wise, the Astralis is a warm-leaning planar with legitimately satisfying bass: strong rumble, punch, and texture without turning the mids into a mess. Female vocals are nicely forward and energetic, treble is smooth and controlled with just enough sparkle to keep it from feeling overly dark, and technical performance hangs with the usual suspects in this price bracket. Staging and imaging are solid but not earthshattering. I compare it to the Hidizs MP145 (red nozzle), 7Hz x Crinacle Diablo, Letshuoer S12 Ultra, S15, and even the $500 Ember. My takeaway: Astralis lands as a really compelling middle ground—warm and bassy, but more balanced than the true basshead sets—and I ultimately place it in “you should buy this,” with the caveat that the cheaper S08 can get you a similar vibe for less money.
