About This Video

Howdy everybody—Omar here, your Audio Amigo. In this episode I review the $350 Kiwi Ears Orchestra II, the newest all-balanced armature set in the Orchestra line, now packing 10 custom BAs per side. I walk through the upgraded unboxing (tons of tip variety, a genuinely nice carry case, and a premium-feeling modular cable), then get into build notes like the fully sealed resin shell, unfiltered nozzles, and the mild pressure buildup I experienced. I also hit specs and why output impedance matters here, because this one can shift into “too V-shaped” territory on higher-impedance sources. Sound-wise, I break it down by bass/mids/treble and technicalities. The Orchestra II has satisfying sub-bass heft for an all-BA set, tucked mid-bass, clean lean lower mids, and a forward upper-mid/treble presentation that can flirt with shout and stealth fatigue on spicier tracks. Technically it performs like a premium all-BA should—good separation and solid positional cues. I compare it to the Orchestra Lite, Ziigaat Luna, Moondrop Variations (used market), and Dunu SA6 Mk.II, then place it in my “but I like this” tier: well-crafted and fun if you want an excitable V-shape, but conditional if you’re treble- or shout-sensitive like some folks are.
